Sand Toy Station
Sharing toys. Protecting beaches.
The San Clemente Junior Woman's Club is proud to bring the Sand Toy Station to San Clemente, a community resource that makes beach play more accessible for families while promoting environmental stewardship and helping keep our beaches clean.
Located near the San Clemente Pier, the Sand Toy Station invites families to borrow beach toys during their visit and return them when they're finished so they can be enjoyed by others.
Built on a simple philosophy of Borrow • Play • Rinse • Return, the station encourages sharing, reduces plastic waste, and inspires all of us to care for our coastline.
How it works.
The Sand Toy Station is a shared collection of beach toys available for families to use during their beach visit.
Using the station is simple:
🪣 Borrow toys for your beach day.
🏖️ Play and make lasting beach memories.
🚿 Rinse toys before returning them.
🔄 Return them so the next family can enjoy them.
By encouraging sharing and reuse, the station helps reduce waste and ensures beach toys can be enjoyed by many families throughout the year.
Why it matters.
Every year, countless plastic beach toys are purchased, forgotten, broken, or left behind on beaches.
The Sand Toy Station offers a simple alternative by encouraging reuse instead of replacement.
By participating, families help:
-
Reduce plastic waste
-
Keep our beaches cleaner
-
Prevent toys from becoming marine debris
-
Encourage children to care for shared community resources
-
Make beach play accessible for more families
One collection of shared toys can bring joy to hundreds of children throughout the year while helping protect the beaches we all love.
Our environmental commitment.
The Sand Toy Station is about much more than beach toys.
It's about teaching children that small actions—sharing, reusing, and cleaning up after ourselves—can make a meaningful difference.
Every toy returned to the station represents one less item purchased unnecessarily and one less piece of plastic that could end up left behind on the beach or in the ocean.
Together, we're building a culture of stewardship, one beach day at a time.
