SAN CLEMENTE JUNIOR WOMAN'S CLUB
FUNDRAISING EVENTS
Our volunteer hours are only part of the story. The SCJWC spearheads projects to help our community, such as Project Angel Tree, student scholarships, and local drives to help military as well as children, families and seniors in need. We also look for under funded projects and programs in the community and offer them a boost in their funding so they can continue to make a difference.
We raise funds through several different means. Our annual "Big Event" fundraising gala is where we raise most of our funding. We were able to raise over $51,000 in 2017 and have a goal of $60,000 for 2019!

“DERBY DAYS” 71ST BIRTHDAY CHARITY GALA
Individual Tickets $85
Table of 10 $850
Since 1948, the San Clemente Junior Woman's Club has been giving back through volunteerism and financial support to it's community. The SCJWC is turning 71 years old in 2019! To celebrate this milestone, let's put on our fanciest hats and get ready to head to the races to bid the night away at our 2019 Derby Days Birthday Charity Gala on March 23, 2019 at the lovely Bella Collina Towne & Club. Join us at 5:30pm for a wonderful evening with an online silent auction and raffle as well as a LIVE auction, entertainment and 3 course meal. All funds which we raise will benefit the philanthropic needs of our beautiful San Clemente community.
In addition to raising funds for SCJWC programs that help the community, we choose a local organization to fund during our live auction. The SCJWC has selected
CHOC Children’s of Orange County Neuroscience Institute for this year's fund in need. CHOC Children’s is different than most hospitals; they believe in the healing power of play. Be part of a pediatric healthcare community dedicated to keeping the magic of childhood alive and well. Illness or injury shouldn’t put childhood on pause. That’s why CHOC has assembled a mighty brigade of experts dedicated to caring for children, whether they’re healthy or seriously ill. So, kids can get back to being kids. For 50 years CHOC Children’s has stood as a distinguished non-profit children’s hospital, committed to providing the highest quality medical care to all children, no matter what the family’s financial capacity.
The CHOC Children’s Neuroscience Institute is ranked among the Best Children’s Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report for neurology and neurosurgery. They offer the only pediatric neuroscience hospital unit in the region, including dedicated beds for seizure monitoring. Children with a variety of conditions are cared for by the Neuroscience Institute including Down syndrome, muscular dystrophy and muscle diseases, brain tumors and tumors of the spine and nervous system, concussion and trauma to the brain and spinal cord, hydrocephalus, sleep disorders, spasticity and cerebral palsy, craniosynostosis, plagiocephaly and other skull deformities, spina bifida, developmental delays and autism, tics and Tourette syndrome, moyamoya disease, neurofibromatosis, headaches, and stroke.
Although, the Neuroscience Institute has state of the art neurodiagnostics, innovative programs, and specialized experts, the physical spaces are older and there is need for new patient spaces both outpatient and inpatient. For example, there is currently donations being raised to build a new playroom for the Neuroscience Inpatient Unit that will allow all children to experience the "Joys of Being a Child” while they are hospitalized, sometimes for weeks at a time. There is also a new outpatient neurology & neurosurgery clinic being planned and an opportunity to contribute to an interactive waiting room or installation for distraction therapy in a planned infusion & procedure room are available. CHOC at Mission is also expanding the sleep lab services and are in need of a mobile polysomnography unit to be able to monitor some of the most vulnerable patients in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Become a champion for children’s health. Feel good knowing your donation brings world-class care to children in Southern California.
Additionally, we are looking for sponsors and charitable donations. If you would like to learn more about our sponsorship program or how to donate an item or service, please contact the Gala Co-Chair Mona Soliman at monataraman@gmail.com.
We would like to thank our generous sponsors and donors who have made this event possible.

Other Fundraising
The SCJWC finds other fun ways to raise money for our community throughout the year. In 2018 we held a Gorjana Jewelry event, dine out nights at BallPark Pizza, and a Kendra Scott Jewelry event to name a few. These events are open to the public, so please check out calendar for upcoming events.
