The
San Clemente Junior Woman’s Club (SCJWC) is a
very rewarding way to give back to your community. Not
only do we serve our community through a variety
of ways (driving Meals on Wheels, collecting items for
the homeless and working poor, cooking meals for the
Ronald McDonald House, sending care packages for armed
personnel serving abroad, etc.) but we also raise funds
to help those in need monetarily. We serve countless
local organizations and we also help assist local
families and individuals. Volunteering has been shown to
provide health benefits…it does feel great to give! Our
Club is involved in so many different things, you’re
sure to find volunteer opportunities that touch your
heart. Furthermore, it’s a great way to meet like-minded
women and make new friendships.
My
theme this year is “a small group of women trying to
make a big difference – strength united is stronger.”
Our Club consists of 40 women that give over 2,000 hours
annually to fundraising and charitable activities. We
are a casual group and we meet once a month to discuss
upcoming activities and decide if, when and how we will
meet all of the requests we receive. As a member, you
choose the activities you want to participate in based
on those that are of interest to you. For those with
more time to give and for whom enjoy leadership
responsibilities, we have board and chair positions. So
whether you have 5 hours to give a month or 50, we could
use your help! We hope you’ll stop by one of our
meetings and see what we’re all about. Thank you
for your interest and we hope to see you soon!
